Addressed to all couples born during the pandemic

THE PROJECT

Twenty-one romantic homes, one for each region of Italy, where to spend a weekend in compliance with current regulations, and a competition dedicated to all couples who will experience their first Valentine’s Day together. This is how Airbnb celebrated the most romantic month of the year, thinking in particular of the new loves that blossomed during the pandemic thanks to the contest Love in Lockdown born after 14 February 2020. 

The contest ended on Sunday 31 January 2021.

 

DEVELOPMENT

To take part in the competition, couples born in the last year told their love story in 150 words, which was submitted to a jury to select the 21 most original and romantic stories, one for each region of Italy. The prizes up for grabs were 21 coupons that could be used for 21 stays on Airbnb, to escape a little from the complex reality we are living, but always respecting the rules on safety and distance.  

 

RESULTS

Over 2000 applications were received in one week, including 400 from Lombardy, almost 200 from Veneto and over 150 from Lazio and Piedmont. 

There was also great success on the media front with 72 articles in national newspapers and magazines, including general news, travel and lifestyle magazines. Big space was dedicated in the local media to the competition and to the most exciting stories of the winners and participants.

  • Real protagonists with their stories of great impact and interest for newspapers and local media.
  • Communication to the media according to specific keys of interest.
