According to a review by Euromonitor defining International’s Top 10 Global Consumer Trends in the days of the coronavirus, the new consumer will have to be involved and, above all, reassured by brands. The consumer will prefer delivery, as well as contactless exchanges, with focus on hygiene even before the green aspects. He/She will tend to isolate him/herself, spend more time at home and on social media. Companies will have to think out of the box and find a new balance to satisfy him. In the last two months, Booking.com analyzed millions of “wish lists” of travelers, with facilities listed in over 100,000 different destinations, to share what is in the dreams of people who are looking forward to the right time to return to travel. Bali, Andalusia, London, Florida and Paris continue to be at the top of the dreams of travelers around the world, but it is domestic tourism that occupies more than half (51%) of “wish lists” globally, an increase of 18% compared to 2019 data in the same period (33%). The figure increases if you look at Italy, where domestic travel accounts for 61% of Italians’ wishes, compared to 53% in 2019. More info
Following a research on Airbnb, Summer 2020 will back to the ’60-style: Italian, longer and with the family, with Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia, Trentino Alto-Adige and the Etruscan Coast as the most sought after destinations. Due to the need for social distancing, the choice of accommodation concentrates on the independent house with 62% of Italians to opt for independent solutions, such as single houses, villas and bungalows, while the demand for apartments represents only 7% of requests compared to 17% last year. From the latest research published by Mabrian Technologies very comforting data emerge based on the perception of safety of travelers to the destination Italy: based on the analysis of online mentions related to tourism to Italy made from country itself but also from France, Spain, Germany and UK, the peak of the correlation between Covid-19 and Italian tourism dates back to March 18. According to the research carried out by the platform, today 93% of European social mentions related to Italian tourism have no correlation with the virus. More info
