AIGO has been selected by South African Tourism – Southern Europe to support the implementation of its strategy in France, Italy and Spain. Also, with the support of two members of the Pangaea Network, of which AIGO is a co-founder, Indigo for France and The Blue Room Project for Spain.
“We are very happy with this new partnership that will help us to achieve our objectives, Southern European markets account for about 290,000 arrivals per year (2016 data), and are showing very strong growth rate with and increase of approximately 7.5% in the last 4 years “– stated Bashni Muthaya, SAT Regional Manager South Europe – “We want to push these results further to show as a region our strong commitment to achieve SA Tourism’s goal of a further 5 million tourist arrivals in 5 years. We shared with AIGO a three-year strategy, envisioning a market by market diversified approach to strengthen our distribution channels, improve trade knowledge of the destination, and start building a relationship with our prospective travelers through directly engaging with them.”
“There is a long story of passionate work between AIGO and South Africa, which dates back to the 90’s, when we started promoting South African hotels in the Italian market”– said Massimo Tocchetti, President of AIGO – “We love South Africa and this is why we are especially proud to have been selected. We have put together a fantastic team with our colleagues from the Pangaea Network: Indigo Consulting will support the SA Tourism team in the promotion of a strong destination image towards travelers via media relations, and digital PR for France; The Blue Room Project will have the key role of implementing the launch of the destination in Spain; whilst our team in Italy, besides the marketing coordination, will have the challenging and rewarding task of achieving long term growth in the market. In summary, this is a fascinating adventure, and we are ready to live it.”
