The rugged heights of the Sultanate of Oman were chosen by Bear Grylls as the destination for the new Bear Grylls Academy (BGSA)survival course. “The king of the wilderness,” who has conquered the world with his television series Man Vs Wild, Escape from Hell and Get Out Alive, has chosen the Sultanate for this initiative. The country enchants with its natural wonders and offers a diversity of environments that make it the ideal destination for hikers and adventurers.
Personally designed by Bear Grylls for youngsters (aged 10-17 years) and adults, the Survival in the Desert 24h course is designed to test the abilities of those who undertake it: to participate, a good physical preparation is required. From March 18-19 the participants, led by a team of experts, will hike the mountains around Dibba in the Musandam Peninsula, territory of the Arab emirates and the famous ‘fjords of Arabia’. Along the way, the participants will be taught some basic survival techniques.
