Qatar invests in the Italian tourism market

Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) expands its European footprint by opening a representative office in Milan to attract tour operators and travelers from Italy.

As a representative office has been named the agency AIGO. The agency will strengthen strongly the presence of QTA in site, introducing and developing public awareness and knowledge of Qatar as a quality destination both through proactively marketing actions towards tour operators, travel agents, hospitality and media partners, both with actions aimed at consumers.
In recent years Qatar has consolidated its reputation as a destination of excellence in business tourism, diversifying its approach to attract also a growing number of leisure tourists. The number of foreign tourists in Qatar since 2009 has had an average annual growth rate of 13.8 %, making Qatar one of the fastest growing destinations in the world .

The marketing campaign of the destination in Italy will cover a broad range of promotional activities including: workshops, sales visit, destination training for travel agents, partnerships, familliarisation trip, media campaigns and numerous innovative activities to raise awareness of Qatar and make it becoming a first choice destination for Italian travelers.

The aim will be to transfer the message that Qatar is a destination that combines an excellent welcome service and superb attractions for leisure in a warm and quiet atmosphere, with the touch of the authentic tradition of hospitality of the destination in addition to a wide range of cultural experiences incomparable.

The office in Italy will be the fourth to open in Europe and sixth in the world. It will join an international network that currently covers United Kingdom, France, Germany, the countries of the Persian Gulf (Gulf Cooperation Council) and South East Asia.
