Located at 6,560 ft above sea level and overlooking a canyon, the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort will open in July 2016 in the mountains of the Sultanate of Oman, which will be among the “highest” luxury resort in the world.
Sometimes inaccessible, the Anantara Jabal Al Akhdar, which in Arabic means “green mountain” is an impressive rocky massif of the vast plateau of Saiq in the Sultanate of Oman. Its vertiginous peaks make it fascinating and timeless. To reach the resort, guests will embark on a journey of two hours by car from the international airport of Muscat, or 4 hours and a half from Dubai, between terrace cultivation, wades and historic fortresses.
A total of 115 rooms and villas overlook the canyons or gardens: each room features luxurious details, from the handcrafted furniture Omanis to the product line for the bathroom signed Amouage, the most exclusive perfumes’ maison of the Sultanate. The 82 Premier and Deluxe rooms at the resort boast spacious bedrooms and a spa bath created with the eco-sustainable resources of the area, with rain shower and separate bathtub next to a terrace or balcony. Similarly, 33 villas offer guests a stay in complete privacy, with private butler service and an infinity pool, the edges of which overlook the rocky ends or an exotic garden.
The gastronomic offer will satisfy the palates of the most discerning guests, who can dine in one of the six restaurants and lounges, as well as try unique experiences including a dinner at the platform “Diana’s Point” on the peak of a cliff.
The resort has an infinity pool on the edge of a precipice, a fitness center, a tennis court and spa.
