Finnair: new routes and growth in Italy

7 April 2026

Finnair strengthens its presence in Italy and confirms its strategic commitment to the national market with important developments for 2026.

During a media event held by AIGO in Milan, the airline announced the launch of three new direct flights connecting Helsinki with Catania, Florence, and Turin. These new routes significantly enhance the offering of the airline, making it easier to reach the Finnish capital, and promoting a destination where nature and urban life coexist in perfect harmony.

Helsinki further confirms its role as a key hub for intercontinental travel, with efficient connections to global destinations such as Japan, the United States, and, starting in May, Toronto.

The event also provided an opportunity to introduce Geoffrey Carrage, Finnair’s Regional Manager for Southern Europe, who was recently appointed to the role.

Finnair’s strategy is increasingly focused on a customer-centric approach, designed to deliver an authentic Finnish travel experience built on hospitality, reliability, and efficiency—key elements that are internationally recognized.
