THE ITALIAN ALL STARS WILL PLAY IN THE RUGBY WORLD CLUB 10S MAURITIUS TOURNAMENTNews 27 May 2016
The Italian All Stars will participate in the World Club 10s Rugby Tournament to be held in Mauritius between June 18-19 2016, which will bring the best rugby teams from around the world – from France, South Africa, Australia and the UK- to participate the competition at the Anjalay Stadium for the coveted title of World Club Champions 10s.
The All Stars Italians are the eighth and final team to confirm their participation in the World Club 10s this year, along with the Asia Pacific Dragons, who return after their presence in 2014, to South African Cell C Sharks, to the Aquis Brumbies and Western Force from Australia. The Saracens, the English champions, the Stade Francais and the three-time European champions RC Toulon from France close the group.
Managed by Persico Aaron, former Italian rugby third wing, and coached by Zane Ansell, the All Stars will consist of players of the teams PRO12 Benetton, Treviso Zebras and Petrarca Padova, as well as Rovigo, Mogliano and Amateurs San Dona of the Excellence category.
For those who aren’t professional players but want to try their hand in the competition, satellite tournaments throughout the island will be organized, whose winners will play the final in the same stadium of the professional rugby players. Air Mauritius, national airline and official carrier of the event, offers special rates available for those who wish to fly to Mauritius for the tournament; Beachcomber Hotels,the famous chain of luxury hotels will offer its guests free tickets for the event.
