Second edition of the Sultanate of Oman roadshow

 For the second year, AIGO has organized the Italian stop of the Arabia felix European roadshow. The Sultanate of Oman Tourist Board together with 17 among the most prestigious partners of the local tourism industry met in Milan Italian tour operators, travel agents, incentive house and journalists.
“After 2 years from the opening of the Italian office, I am proud to share with you the achievements and the very positive results obtained: Italy is the 4th European market in terms of arrivals for Oman, after UK, Germany and France. The remarkable growth has been fostered by the Oman Air direct flight operating since last June. In 2011 arrivals from Italy reached 15.179 units (+77%)” declared Rania Khodr, Sultanate of Oman Tourism Board Director for Italy, France and Swiss Romansh, “and the first quarter of 2012 has registered a 20% growth”.
These positive results brought to an improvement and diversification of the Omani hotel offer which is more and more tailored to welcome international visitors. The success of the destination has also led to several important awards: Muscat has been declared “Arab Tourism Capital 2012” by the Arabian Lega,  the capital ranked second among the Lonely Planet Top 10 cities 2012 behind London and the National Geographic Magazine declared The Sultanate of Oman and its capital one of the must seen cities in 2012.
